From this lesson, I have learnt how CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) helps in HTML. CSS helps to brighten up a HTML-created webpage by adding colours, pictures etc. This will promote the webpage more effectively. What's more, CSS is not at all complicated, as long as you can grasp the format. Still, as an amateur, I require much more hard work to master this invaluable skill. I hope to be able to achieve desirable results in this subject.
It has been a most interesting lesson today, about the uses of HTML and how to use it to create a website. Although it is said that HTML is much simpler than C++ Programming, it cannot be denied that both HTML and C++ require lots of practice and memorizing. As a not-so-IT-savvy person, I doubt I will be able to grasp the knowledge of HTML so quickly, just as I did in C++. However, with some guidance and help, I am sure I will be able to learn more effectively.
From this week's lesson, we have gone more deeply into the world of Web 2.0, and from there, I have learnt about Social Media, IP and Blog/Website from the Forum Discussion. From what my classmates and I have contributed, I can say that blogs are more suitable for teenagers like us, as it requires less skills and time to maintain. However, if one decides to start to a business of some sort, a website is much more preferred as customization can take place more easily.
From this lesson, the main information I have grasped is about Web 2.0 vs Web 1.0.
I have learnt that Web 2.0 is a platform that allows people from all around the world to collaborate, interact and share information. Whereas, Web 1.0 only allows people to obtain information, unable to allow people to share, interact, and so, knowledge is limited because only one perspective can be presented.
Web 2.0 sites allows its users to interact with other users or to change website content, in contrast to Web 1.0's non-interactive websites where users are limited to the passive viewing of information that is provided to them.
Web 2.0 sites include Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia etc.
Web 1.0 sites are practically non-existent today, judging by the rate technology improves nowadays.
Hi all, my name is Yan Wei Liang and I was from Pei Chun Public School. During the six years there, I participated in a media class for 2 years. Also, my father, who possesses an interest in IT, has been constantly updating me of new IT technologies. However, I do not actually have an interest in that field. Therefore, from this year's IT lessons, I hope that it will pique my interest more greatly.
